Miss Clavel

An homage to a fictional nun

Miss Clavel ice skates with the twelve girls"In an old house in paris that was covered with vines..." Miss Clavel takes care of twelve little girls. Miss Clavel is very protective of her charges, and sometimes a little easily frightened, but she's a fairly stern and capable caretaker. She never skimps when it comes to getting out and having fun in the city and even takes the kids traveling to London. These illustrations are from Lubwig Bemelmans' beautiful books about a little girl named Madeline.
